QUESTION: Hello. From the pictures of this bed it appears as though there is an awkward gap between the top of the edge on the base and the toddler rail when it is used in the toddler position. ANSWER: We have not used it for a toddler yet. Our baby is only 9months old. The gap you see appears to be the opening to the drawer at the bottom (If I'm seeing correctly). We didn't get the crib with the drawer so there is no gap with our crib/bed. by Q U 5/28/2012
