ANSWER: No, it needs a mini crib mattress. I bought a Kolcraft Cozy Soft Portable Crib Mattress. One really thin one comes with it, but it gave no support. I'm still using the crib for my second grand child. It's great, and very sturdy. by Sue O 12/1/2014

ANSWER: As shown it is at its lowest setting i do believe. We used it as a bassinet for the first 5 months, until the baby begins to roll over. Then we dropped it to one of the midway points until he could pull to a sitting position. After that we dropped it as pictured and left it that way until he wa about a year. ANSWER: My daughter did as you described. But be careful to monitor your babies weight because my grandson is a big boy and the crib actually broke when he was about 1. Check all the adjustments and make sure they are secure. Otherwise she loved the crib in her room in the first months. It is a very pretty crib. by G R 10/18/2012

ANSWER: We bought this crib for our granddaughter and I love it. It rocks so gently that I leave it in rocking mode and if she starts to wiggle around it rocks her back to sleep. ( of course as she gets more active we will have to latch the locks for safety )She is 3 months old now and we have not had to lower the mattress yet. We used a 3" Kolcraft mattress and it is about 9" from the top rail. As we lower it as needed it will be 13",18" and 23" from the top rail. I highly recommend getting the 3" thick mattress as it is a super snug fit and is more comfortable than the 1" that comes with the crib. Hope that answers your question. QUESTION: Am I correct that this crib does not rock without the wheels removed. Kind of a pain actually. It is unsteady without the wheels for the rocking motion, as the rocker stoppers are only on two corners. Has anyone remedied this? by Sue O 5/31/2012

ANSWER: If you want the crib to rock, you take the wheels off. The rocker stoppers should be in the up position for the crib to rock. When they are in the down position, the crib won't rock. I didn't find it to be unsteady when using the rocker stoppers, but then I put the wheels back on relatively soon and didn't use the rocking function for long. I found it easy to remove the wheels each time. by M S 6/4/2012

Love this mini crib! My son has a regular size crib in his room but I'm just not ready for him to move out of my room yet so i got this and I love it! We had a bassinet for the first few months but then he outgrew that, now he's 11 months and sleeps fine in this mini crib. It's small but perfect probably till maybe even 2 years old!

I ordered this crib for my grandson who is due to arrive any minute. I was able to put the crib together by myself in about 30 minutes without any trouble at all. It is just adorable and very sturdy. I am sure the baby will have many peaceful naps in it. Thank you.

We love the mini-crib. Getting another mattress is a must because the pad that comes with it is so thin. We purchased a 50 coil mattress and it works great. Also need a breathable bumper, our son's little feet and hands kept getting stuck between bars since they are not close together. We couldn't use the rocking mechanism because he would just slide around so we had to put the wheels on it and try to rock him with the wheels. It rocked enough to calm him down. Love the fact that we can roll it around. We could use it in our bedroom then slide it into the living room when he was taking naps, I was terrified of SIDS cause he couldn't lift his head up yet and he loves to sleep on his belly. Overall, glad we bought this product.
