After 10 years of helping Mom's and Dad's decide on baby furniture for their nursery and being a Mom, I have been asked soooo many times, both personally and professionally, "What furniture should I get for my nursery?" This question is always closely followed by "When should I buy my baby furniture?" I decided that it was time to put something together to help answer these simple, yet tricky questions.
Like I tell all my pregnant friends and family when they ask, the first thing I note is that the nursery should be fun to plan, fun to shop for, and fun to execute. Start early and give yourself the time to make it happen at a leisurely pace. Most parents will start planning at about 20 weeks, typically when they find out if they are having a boy or a girl. However, feel free to get inspiration on the web and on Pinterest even before this time. Starting early also lets you shop for deals and leaves plenty of time to order furniture, which can take days, weeks, or even months to arrive.
