ANSWER: No you cannot remove top rails-or at least I have not tried. This is a great changing table especially if you are tall. However the paint has been chipping off the top portion of the table (where the mattress goes) but I will just put a liner underneath. by Therese G 12/19/2013

ANSWER: More of a pure white. It's a good changing table, but not an investment piece. The door kept falling off about 6 months into use. Also keep in mind the dimensions. I am 5'3" and felt the changing table was sometimes cumbersome to put the baby, the eventually toddler up there to get changed. All other things aside, for the $, it's ok by L A 8/20/2012

ANSWER: Hi Christine, we purchased this dresser and it is pure white, matching our white crib. It is holding up very well. We also put two baskets in the opening for "first aid" and ath products. We are very satisfied!
