ANSWER: If your getting a skirt you bet best is to have one made the way the crib none I bought would work because where the bottom piece is fixed to the changing table it's bunches on the metal fixture u have to cut it for it I fall correctly .... Good luck hope this made sine kinda hard to explain but you will see when u put a skirt on :( I ended up just not using one by L A 7/19/2013

ANSWER: Yes the changing table has to be attached. We tried to take it off and found that the tracks for the drawers are on the side of the crib. We kept the table off but had to put the crib against a wall so the hardware wasn't exposed. It makes it a little complicated when you want to convert out of a crib. by L I 7/11/2013

ANSWER: The crib is made out of Pine wood. I haven't had any problems with any chips coming off. Since its real wood, the furniture can get scratched... Just as any wood furniture does with normal wear and tear. by M I 12/31/2012
