ANSWER: I would have to say the picture is pretty accurate, but yes it is just a little darker.I think it is a beautiful set for the money. The changer is really long and we have room at the end to put lotion and powder and it seems to have rubbed a spot, so I would say the finish rubs off easily. Final thought would be, this thing is a pain to put together! But my overall rating is an 8 out of 10.. by S H 9/9/2013

ANSWER: Yes, it is a bit darker than the picture shows, the grain looks so "visible" in this picture. I would say it is a true espresso color in person. Also, may I say I love this dresser as well. I own the matching mini-crib and my 2 1/2 year old still loves "her bed" by R E 9/9/2013
